My name is Christopher Williams. I served for 5 years in the United States Air Force. I was a Munitions Systems Specialist, AMMO for short. I was stationed in Osan Airbase, Republic of South Korea for one year, where I supported both F16's and A10 fighter squadrons as a member of the precision guided munitions. After that my journey brought me to the Airbase in Ramstein Germany were I supported missions in Jordan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Syria, as well as missions on the Continent of Africa for 3 years. Finally, my last year lead me back to the United States. I was attached to the nuclear squadron in Malmstrom Air Base Great Falls, Montana, supporting base security as well as nonnuclear components to Americas most lethal arsenal. Now that I'm out of the military and have returned to my home city Ventura, I have begun working with "A Road to a Grateful Heart.". As a youth I never knew much about my background, only that I was Chumash. After seeing both Asia and Europe I was inspired by those that came before us, it made me long for a connection like that to my own heritage. Through the work of "A Road to a Grateful Heart" I'm able to connect to my culture and ancestors. It allows me to be a part of a community of rebirth, love, and unity. My goal is to further my service from America to my indigenous community and the community we seek to build here at this organization.
